Langkawi: Jewel of Kedah

Commonly known as the Jewel of Kedah. Langkawi in Malay refers to the island of the reddish-brown eagle. Administratively, Langkawi is an archipelago of ~99 islands in the Andaman Sea. And is situated ~30km off the coast of northwestern Malaysia (Kedah state). The island is one of the top tourist destinations in the country. And is famed for the turquoise waters surrounding its lush interior tropical rainforests.

It’s been a great 5days on the island. Perfect for a budget short getaway. Though the weather almost threatened to derail some plans, it turned out that we covered most (if not all) of what we set out to explore. Truly blessed!
